Once the goods have been presented to the customs office of destination, they must be placed under one of the customs procedures. Goods may be cleared at the border customs clearance department or, after presentation to the border customs authorities, they may be placed under a transit procedure and transported to a destination in the EU customs territory where they will be placed under the customs procedure of their choice. The EU Customs Data Model (EUCDM) is aligned with the World Customs Organisation Data Model (WCODM).
